The Fairford Classic Car Club

In 1987 a group of classic vehicle enthusiasts, based in Fairford, Gloucestershire, decided that there was a need for a regional classic vehicle club with a wider range of interesting and more inclusive family activities, than are often offered through traditional, one-make clubs.

They subsequently formed the Fairford Classic Car Club, which now has over 85 members throughout the Gloucestershire, Cotswolds, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire areas, but also as far away as Devon!  The club’s aim is to offer members a wide variety of activities which are of interest to members, but are also relaxed and family orientated whilst still using our classic vehicles to the full.  The club has a monthly Newsletter which keeps members in touch with forthcoming activities, whilst also providing reports on past event and photographs.  The website also has a future events page and includes a Flickr site which includes photographs from the club’s runs and visits.  Past events and photos are also shown on the club’s Facebook page.

Ask any member why the FCCC continues to flourish and they will tell you that it is because of the diversity of events & members vehicles and overwhelmingly, because of the Club’s friendly, informal and social atmosphere.  This was highlighted during the ‘Covid years’ when the club, although not able to organise formal events,  provided an important ‘social centre’ where members still kept in regular touch by phone, e-mail etc.
